Tenth Annual Model A Day at The Gilmore
July 14, 2020
Dear Model A Supporters,
This year we had planned to celebrate our tenth annual Model A Day reunion at The Gilmore. However, due to the continuing and unabated impact of the Covid-19 virus, the MAFFI Trustees have concluded that we must cancel the September 18th-19th, 2020 event. After much evaluation and conversation, it was determined that attempting to have a safe and comprehensive event with meeting seminars, swap meet merchandise and exhibits showcasing our Model A’s presents too great a risk to our hobbyists this year.
Thank you for your support of The Model A Museum and for your past participation at our annual event. We plan to have Model A Day next year (2021), and will carry over our First Responders vehicle theme. We will provide further information regarding The Foundation’s 2020 annual meeting and induction of Hall of Fame candidates as we get closer to September.
All of us associated with The Model A Ford Foundation wish you well and hope you remain safe during this pandemic. Please understand how difficult it was to make this decision and accept our apologies for the necessity of cancelling Model A Day at The Gilmore this year.
With Best Regards,
John W. Begg

Hello Ralph, (OR YOUR NAME)
Are you available to assist? I am out of the State now and I’ve got credence in you to take care of this.I would have called your phone but I presently do not have access to my mobile phone.
Model A Restorers Club <MARC>, needs some gift cards for donation to Veterans at Hospice and Palliative care units for preventive items against Corona Virus Disease ( COVID-19).
I have decided to make it a personal duty. I will be responsible for the reimbursement.
REPEAT THIS IS FAKE…DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY!!!!

Model A Calendar
The Nickle A Model A Region was set to host the June National Meet in Oshkosh before the Covid 19 pandemic!
The ladies of the club put together an 18 month calendar with Model A’s, their pictures, and sassy by-lines. The calendars start in July 2020 and run 18 months.
These calendars are dated that we will not be able to sell them in 2021 when we hope to be able to host the national meet.
PLEASE consider purchasing one or more of our great calendars to help the club.
Send $18.75 for Calendar and Shipping

Work Continues on the MAFFI AA Bus
Someday we will all be going for a ride on the BUS!
Winner of the Jay Leno Garage Raffle
The Big Winner of the Jay Leno raffle is Chris Prondzinski.
Chris won the trip for two to visit the Jay Leno collection in Burbank California. Congratulations!
Ken Ehrenhofer presided over the drawing while Rusty Gould, President of the Model A Restorers Club had the honor of drawing the winning ticket.
Ken had his eye on the bus for over 40 years and when the owner passed on and an auction was held Ken had the opportunity to make the purchase.
The previous owner Lee Roy Hartung of Glenview Illinois was a scrap dealer and a major collector of all things antique. The rear wheels of the bus where frozen and a flat bed was used to get it to it’s new home. Ken and the barn crew got it running and gave rides at the Annual Swap meet at Ken’s home. Ken has donated it to the Model A Ford Foundation to be used for giving rides to visitors to the Gilmore Museum upon completion of the restoration. Currently the bus is undergoing a full restoration and the Coastal Carolina A club will have the Chassis completed before the end of this year. When finished it will be only one of three adult passenger buses built by the Union City Bus company to exist. Follow the restoration as we go along…..
Tim Johnstone Will Be Missed
Tim Johnstone died October 30 at the age of 77 at his home in McAllen, Texas, after a short and brave battle with cancer.
Tim had a passion for the Model A Ford, this passion obvious when he restored a 1929 station wagon and a 1931 coupe. Tim worked tirelessly for the Model A community. He spearheaded the Rio Grande Valley Model A Club and was a chief judge for the Model A Ford Club of America. In addition, he wrote a quarterly newsletter for station-wagon enthusiasts, Woody Wagons, for more than 40 years Our sincere condolences to his entire family.
My 1930 Model A in Italy
I won a trophy at the car show on Sunday the 23rd June 2019 and thought you might like to look at the pictures. The Ford is registered in the Italian system and I have plates to drive anytime and where ever I choose. Take it out only for special occasions such as pick up the Grand children from school, Club functions and etc. This Ford is causing a lot of commotion here in Vicenza, it’s not uncommon to see an old Ferrari on the streets, but to see this ford is absolutely unbelievable for the Italians. I get thumbs up every where I go and outstanding comments. This is truly a way to share a part of America’s past with The Italian people.
